Position: POS Repair Technician
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented POS Repair Technician to support our technical operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating, repairing, testing, and maintaining Point of Sale (POS) devices, ensuring they meet operational and quality standards before redeployment.
Minimum Requirements
National Diploma or Matric Certificate (Grade 12)
Minimum of 1 years’ experience working in a technical repair centre as a technician
Proven technical skills within a repairs department
Experience in repairing, disassembling, and assembling Point of Sale (POS) devices
Ability to use basic hand tools (small screwdrivers, pliers, and related tools)
Intermediate computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite
Experience working with Microsoft-based systems
Experience working with application systems
Knowledge of Android devices, including application updates
Key Responsibilities / Role Summary
Evaluate returned POS devices and classify them according to defined categories
Record, test, and prepare devices for the refurbishment and cleaning process
Update POS device software, applications, and operating systems
Maintain accurate Excel reports for tracking POS devices
Collaborate with team members to investigate and resolve POS device issues
Assist technical support with hardware and software-related tasks as required
Manage and update POS device movements and groupings within internal systems
